Introducing The Big Read
In April 2012 we began a new initiative at Banstead Community Church called ‘The Big Read’.
Put simply it is a church-wide Bible Reading programme.
Each month we focus on one book of the Bible. On the first Sunday of every month in the evening service an overview talk is given on that book, specifically focussing on how Jesus is revealed. Then for the rest of the month, the aim is for as many in the church to read through the book from start to finish, as they would a novel or a letter.
For those who find reading the Bible difficult, we’ll encourage them to listen to the dramatised reading of the book in The Bible Experience.
Its fairly simple what we’re doing, but our hope is that we will as a local church get to know the Lord Jesus better as we read the Scriptures that reveal Him.
